After a few months in development, the AppliedIRC Quotes system has just now gone live.
The quotes system allows channel users to paste quotes from a channel into their quotes page. For that extra peace of mind, the option to moderate quotes is available for users with a set access in the channel.
You can enable quotes for your channel via My AppliedIRC and then the Quotes button. Once you have enabled them, you and other users will be able to view quotes and add them via http://quotes.appliedirc.com/
channelname/ or by using the Quotes tab.
Also, a word of news from the development dungeon at AppliedIRC. Work is progressing on a channel web access module. This module will give channel admins more control over who can view the web elements for their channel. More on this feature soon.
As always, if you need any help, or encounter any problems with the AppliedIRC service, please contact an operator in #help.

Just a quick news post to update everyone with what's been going on behind the scenes at the AppliedIRC website.
We've recently added the FAQ section, to answer a lot of questions we have been receiving involving IRC. We've also slightly re-ordered the navigation for the 'Home' section of the AppliedIRC website.
The ability to post comments about news has been added, allowing members to discuss any news posts.
Our Webchat has been drastically changed, moving away from the horrible Java applet which was very temperamental, to the modern JavaScript Mibbit applet. We have joined forces with Mibbit to provide easy to use access to the AppliedIRC network.
In a slight development update, work is being done on channel quotes, but more on that in the near future.
As always, if you have any problems with the AppliedIRC website or service, please contact an operator in #help.

Over the past few days, a few subtle changes have happened on the AppliedIRC website. As you may have noticed, there is now a member bar above the navigation, which allows you to remain logged into your MyAppliedIRC account throughout the website.
Over the next coming weeks, more services will be integrated into the MyAppliedIRC login, such as logs and stats management.
There is also a quick colour switcher on the right of the member bar, allowing you to quickly change the colour of the website without having to visit "Update Site Settings".
Also, if you're a keen reader, please ignore the previous post about AppliedIRC v4, as this was an April Fools in which AppliedIRC got turned into RickRoll IRC.
As always, if you notice any issues with the AppliedIRC, please report them in #help, where an operator will make note and pass them on to myself or skenmy.

AppliedIRC today performed a major upgrade of its IRCd package, InspIRCd. This involved the loading of many new modules, and thus introducing a lot of new features! Some of the most notable include:
* Connection throttling (to prevent against spam bot attacks)
* Introduction of various new channel and user modes
* Various bot detection techniques
* Reopening of port 6676 on all IP addresses.
Please ensure that you read server notices for any important information regarding connections, as we have changed our connection acceptance method. Your client should automatically handle the new system.
AppliedIRC is also pleased to announce the immediate availability of Logs Search - which can be accessed from the left-hand navigation panel whilst on any channel logs page! This system allows you to search up to one year of logs for any string - so you can find that all important piece of text.
We are also pleased to announce the first pages in our upcoming line of help and documentation pages - the
Channel Mode and
User Mode list pages! These pages detail the available channel and user modes on AppliedIRC - useful for both users and channel owners alike! We expect to develop more help and documentation, both on and off IRC, soon!
We would like to hear your comments and ideas on these new features and upgrades, and on the network in general! You can chat to us in #help via the Webchat on the left!

As of the latest version of the AppliedIRC website (v3.222), the support for getting settings related to the logging of channels has been built.
Users in a channel who have auto-op or higher are able to edit whether or not LogServ is logging their channel.

AppliedIRC has just migrated to a new server, called 'big'.
Along with the server migration, AppliedIRC is proud to announce the latest version of their website (v3) for use. This version has fixed a number of bugs with the previous version (subdomains now work) and provides small design tweaks. As a little extra, click on the Change Site Settings link at the bottom of any website page.

At the moment, a number of issues are occurring with the AppliedIRC website subdomains. This is due to a change in server control panel, which has been causing problems to the process of adding subdomains to the website.
My AppliedIRC, and Statistics are inaccessible for the foreseeable future due to these issues, and the wiki has been removed from the website due to lack of use.
We apologise for these inconveniences.
